Microsoft’s Bold New Moves

Introduction
Microsoft
has been making some great strides when making their product stand out from the
rest of the competitors. Steve Ballmer
was quotes at a San Francisco press conference saying, “the new, modern Office
will deliver unparalleled productivity and flexibility for both consumers and
business customers.” The new Microsoft Office has some outstanding new features
that will give Apple and other services headaches trying to keep up. With
programs like Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and One Note, getting a much needed
facelift and user friendly features that are pushing the boundaries of how a
programs capability. The 2013 Microsoft Office has a plethora of new features
and unique additions to make even the casual user satisfied. With the ever
changing landscape of devices, Office is certainly keeping pace with these new
improvements.
Features of Powerpoint, Word and One Note
Powerpoint has become
one of the best ways for companies and students to present their ideas using a
combination of visual effects and guided notes. With new features such as
Presenter View, which privately shows the current and upcoming slides,
presentation time and notes at a glance. Using Powerpoint in conjunction with
the new and improved One Note and Lync apps gives the presenter the ability to
zoom, mark up and navigate through slides using the touch and stylus
capabilities. Microsoft Office has
enabled a program similar to the Cloud which automatically saves all documents
to theprogram,
called SkyDrive, which allows the user to open those documents on any device,
PC or tablet. In Word, you can remove the ribbon at the top by enabling “Reader
Mode” which allows you to read text as if you were reading it in printed form.
Excel was given a new tool called Flash Fill which can detect patterns in cells
and auto completes empty fields.

simultaneously with others who are in the conference with you. Word is no
longer just for writing, it makes reading easier by removing the ribbon at the
top and zooming in and out for preferences. With One Note, Powerpoint and Lync,
you can draw, erase, and edit with your finger, stylus, or mouse using the new
feature, Inking. If you would rather write than type, simply use this feature
and One Note can convert your handwriting into readable text.
